Jon Marshall, as Editor-in-Chief of Weed Research since 2005, has significant experience in the preparation and writing of scientific papers. He also contributes to the work of Sees-Editing Limited , a company run by Dr John Blackwell that specialises in preparing papers for publication for authors whose first language is not English.

Jon has developed a one-day course with Prof Jens Streibig of Copenhagen University on "Writing a scientific paper for an international journal" and has also given seminars on scientific writing. These have most recently been delivered at the 3rd Iranian Weed Science Congress and the 15th EWRS Symposium, in Kaposvár, Hungary.
